I personally don't believe to much in the left-right dichotomy, but it is clar that whatever is called 'left' is triumphing all over Latin America. Women and indiginous leaders, in Chile and Bolivia respectively. In addition to moderate 'left' governments in Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. Not to mention Chavez. Or, dare I say it, Castro.

Also, notice the silence regarding the Indonesian government in the press. I admit that the supposedly (and otherwise prett good) Whitlam government 'approved' the Indonesian occupation of Timor. Notice the relative silence regarding Papuan asylum seekers in the press, an the silence regarding the Timorese decision not to seek retribution? Coincidence surely, it has nothing to do with power...
